The Gay Liberation Front
People marching in New York, 1973, CNN
The Gay Liberation Front and the Stonewall Riots were the kickstart to equal rights for homosexuals in the 1970’s. Over the past 50 years these historical movements influence and continue to spark people even today to speak out for what they believe in. These movements gave homosexuals a platform to stand up for what they believe in and ultimately changed the laws of our country and how individuals are perceived.
