Short- Term Impact
Many people may be asking themselves why they haven't heard of frequency hopping if it was so important in history and in WWII. Unfortunately, nothing happened immediately after Lamarr pitched her invention to the Navy, as they told her they didn't have the time or money to install an entire new communication system in their ships. Many believe the reason her invention was rejected by the Navy was due to her reputation of being an empty-headed Hollywood actress. After the Navy rejected her invention they told her to simply sell war bonds and that she was not allowed to pitch/sell her invention elsewhere. If only men and the public gaze could have judged women for their total capacity for thinking, feeling, and changing rather than for the way they fulfill the fantasies projected onto them.
The world isn't getting any easier. With all these new inventions I believe that people are hurried more and pushed more... The hurried way is not the right way; you need time for everything - time to work, time to play, time to rest.
