Dr. Arthur Scherbius

“We like to believe that Man is in some subtle way superior to the rest of creation. It is best if he can be shown to be necessarily superior, for then there is no danger of him losing his commanding position.”

Dr. Arthur Scherbius

In 1918 he founded the Firm of Scherbius & Ritter. This is where he made numerous inventions. He applied for a patent in 1918 for his four-router machine. Arthur proposed his machine to the German Military, but was declined.(sylvainavenel.esy.es)

He found a factory that would manufacture his prototype; it was then named the Enigma. The German Army adopted his machine in 1926. Sadly, he did not see this happen. Arthur died in a horse carriage collision on May 13, 1929.((www.computerhope.com)
