                 Paula Bernstein and Elyse Schein

A set of identical twins named Paula Bernstein and Elyse Schein were separated at birth and adopted. The adoptive parents knew that they were part of an ongoing child study but neither parents nor children knew that they had an identical twin. They first met at a cafe in New York City after they had talked on the phone. Elyse Schein had discovered that she had a twin and decided to find her. When they met, they both felt that their whole life had been a lie. They were not told about the twin study or that they had a twin.

Afterwards they took tests on personality, medical history, and brain waves. They also drew the same picture when asked to draw something. They both had mind-blowingly similar results. They each had the same delicate wrists and rounded hips, the same allergy to sulfa drugs, both studied film theory in college, and they had each made a short film. Paula and Elyse both believe that their personality is more than 50 percent nature.
