During the Crimean War, Florence Nightingale identified inefficiencies in the military health system and fundamentally reformed the hospital design, cleanliness, and sanitation regulations. After the war, Nightingale altered the idea of nursing and revolutionized the occupation into a more respected career, whilst also creating publications to make preventive medicine more beneficial to patients in the future.
