The Science Behind Hangeul

King Sejong created Hangul so it could represent every sound of the earth. It is also scientific, based on simple elements in our world to help us understand; each of its consonants represents human speech organs, which makes it easier to learn and express. Also the vowels, a combination of the dot, horizontal line, and vertical line all represent different parts of our world. The circular dot represented heaven, the horizontal line earth, and the vertical line humanity.

"Hangeul is perhaps the most scientific system of writing in general use in any country."                                                                                            ~ Edwin O. Reischauer (1960/ Professor, Harvard University, USA, an historian in East Asian Affairs.) Source from East Asia : The Great Tradition, 1960
