Impact

From the tragic death of Amber Hagerman came the America's Missing Broadcasting Emergency Response Alert, saving children's lives since its inception in 1996. In the United States, a total of 1,186 children were saved from the AMBER Alert. The EU adapted the Alert in 2008 with an 87% success rate.

Amber Alert Europe

In 2006 the alert showed its progress, with a 100% success rate within 72 hours. ​​​​​​​The latest alert reports show how after an alert is activated, a child can be recovered in a number of hours. ​​​​​​​

The Amber-Alert also inspired different alert systems. ​​​​​​​

Silver Alert

This Alert can be sent out for those 50 and older missing persons who have permanent intellectual difficulties. The Alert is used in 27 states. 

Purple Alert

Those between 18 and 60 years old with cognitive disabilities can qualify for a Purple Alert. The Alert is used in Florida and select parts of the US.​​​​​​​

Blue Alert

This Alert occurs when a police officer has been attacked and a dangerous threat is in the area. 37 states use the Blue Alert.
