Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Notorious RBG

"Dissents speak to a future age. It's not simply to say my colleagues are wrong and I would do it this way, but the greatest dissents do become court opinions."

— RBG from a 2002 NPR interview, on her Supreme Court dissents

Thesis

Over her 27+ year career on the U.S. Supreme Court, Ruth Bader Ginsburg (RBG) raised national awareness of women’s equality and changed American history by extending constitutional rights and protections for women. She strategically used her dissents and authored court opinions to set the tone for ground-breaking decisions, shape the law and change public opinion for gender equality.
