Timeline of Ruth Bader Ginsburg

1933-Ruth Bader Ginsburg was born on March 15, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York. She was the daughter of Cecilia and Nathan Bader.

1954-On June 23, 1954 Ruth Bader married Martin Ginsburg. One year later they had their first child, Jane Ginsburg.

1959-In the southern district of New York, RBG started her law career and became a law clerk to a judge.

1972-Ruth Bader Ginsburg was hired as the first woman to receive tenure at Columbia Law School. 

1980-RBG was nominated by President Jimmy Carter to the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.

1993-RBG was appointed by President Bill Clinton to the Supreme Court on June 14, 1993. ​​​​​​​

1999-RBG was diagnosed and treated for colon cancer. ​​​​​​​

2009-She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

2019-RBG had a recurrence of pancreatic cancer.

2020-Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed away on September 18, 2020. ​​​​​​​
