In conclusion, The First Crusade was an awful war that killed thousands, the effects of which are still reaching into the present day. Still the crusades could have been completely avoided had pope urban II had not given the speech. It impacted the core of Europe and the Middle East. The First Crusade killed many people in the Middle East and took important cities to win the war against the Muslims and the Jews. The crusaders eventually took the city of Jerusalem finishing their pilgrimage.
