Propaganda in the Russian Revolution

The Russian Revolution began in 1917 and what started as a cry for freedom from the Tsar, Nicholas II, became a revolution run by the communist party. The revolution would change the direction of Russian history and impact the entire world. It helped Russia in becoming a communist nation, started a cold war between Russia and the U.S. for decades, and it helped spread communism throughout the world. The revolution could not have taken off without garnering the support of the Russian people, mainly through the use of propaganda such as colorful, graphic posters showing communist leaders as liberators and saviors, and a more promising Russia under communist leadership.
