During the 1930s, Dr. Virginia Alexander promoted reforms that aimed to achieve medical equality through her public health research and as a Quaker in the Germantown Monthly Meeting. In reaction to the poor healthcare received by African Americans, she pioneered initiatives to provide care for patients and supported aspiring Black doctors.
