Repercussions of Search Engines

By the end of the 21st century, people world-wide, had access to limitless information that grew by the minute. This was a turning point for learning. Unfortunately, this was not all positive, since people became reliant upon "Googling it." Instead of learning new information and absorbing it people expected to just instantly getting answers. Additionally, the arrival of search engines led into the digital age with its own problems. People's personal data was now at risk and was often sold to the highest bidder. Today, Google also has access to almost every part of people's lives.

Many people even have devices that are hooked up to the internet that listen and wait for them to be activated, so they do not even have to manually search for anything.

Google owns YouTube, which is now a massive part of the entertainment industry. People also use Gmail for most emails. So Google is a part of almost everyone's lives even if it is not via its search engine.
