During World War II the Navajo code was used as a way of communicating, by the Military, on the battlefield. This code was transmitted by an exclusive group called the Navajo code talkers. The code talkers were a key part of the communication system that helped the U.S. Marines win in the Pacific theatre. ​​​​​​​
