The athletics frontier of the creation of basketball happened in Springfield College, in 1891 with a class of eighteen students. Naismith used his old childhood game he used to play, "duck on a rock", to become the basic fundamentals of the game of basketball (Bellis). The first game played had two teams, Team one, and Team two. Team one won the first game of basketball with William R. Chase making a shot from 25 feet away from the basket (“The History of Basketball (13 Rules + First Basketball Game Ever)”).
