Although this case didn’t desegregate California as a whole, it did desegragate all of the Mexican schools in the state. This case doesn’t really have a straight forward overtime impact, but it did place this question of equality in the court, impacting many later cases. There’s no question that there is still descrimination prevalent today, but Ms. Mendez carries on the legacy of her parents and continues their fight for civil rights.
