Television Spikes After WWII

     The television was invented in 1927, however, it didn't become popular till around the 1950s due to advancements made in communication technology during WWII, which made it cheaper.

Early Television 

     Television programming in the '50s and '60s was very limited, with only three national networks to choose from. Since TV was primarily a source of entertainment, national news was only broadcasted at certain times of the day for very limited segments. The news became a ritualized family watching event in many households.
