Look we have Jazz

Jazz was used as a tool to help with the racial injustice of America. These concerts would attract large crowds and was used to change the perspectives of those that felt America was a racists country that abused its people of color. These foreign nations, being brown and black people like the jazz performers, would then be more willing to work with their American allies for future interactions such as trade.

America is a Hypocrite; Racism is Abundant

However not everyone felt like this reflected the truth about America. In September 1957 Louis Armstrong decided to cancel his tour to the Sovit Union to protest the injustice in Little Rock, Arkansas where nine African American students attempting to intergrate into a high school. Orval Faubus, the state's governor, used the Arkansas National Guard to bar the door. He felt that it was not fair to represent a country who practice such injustice.
