While the miner's did not achieve immediate success, the Battle of Blair Mountain brought recognition to the movement, and their push for workers' and union rights. The UMWA set the standard for new unions to be created, such as the Steal Workers Union. 

The battle forged to path to a union victory in 1933, during the early New Deal, which granted unions collective bargaining and a better atmosphere for pro-union miners.
