Major John Wesley Powell's journey down the Grand Canyon

Thesis

John Wesley Powell’s expeditions through the Grand Canyon were among the earliest expeditions that influenced Americans attitudes about how interacting with nature comes with responsibilities and being good stewards for future generations. Major John Wesley Powell’s encounters with America Indians showed his level of integrity in honoring the rights of the indigenous people of the land that were there before the white man. He paved the way for more explorers to cultivate the land in the future.
