Thesis Statement-

Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream to have everyone no matter the color of their skin or anything else be treated right. Because of this dream, on August 28, 1963 on the steps of Lincoln Memorial he told 25,000 people this big dream of his. This changed history because without that speech, public schools would still be segregated between black kids and white kids. The cause of the speech was all the racism. Black people were being treated badly because of racism. Shortly after, in 1964 the laws against equality were passed. 58 years later, black & white people are joined together.

To desegregate so many places, MLK had a citywide bus boycott in honor of Rosa Parks for not following the laws on segregation. The boycott lasted over a year. MLK pushed on for desegregation.

King's "Dream" speech was about to have a major role in the 1964 Civil Rights Movement.

To give better understanding on the tie-in with coummunication, his speech was him giving a peaceful protest (communication) to show that he disliked racism.

The Civil Rights Movement had so many way and approaches. These included black militancy, legal actions and nonviolent civil disobedience.
