Conclusion:​​​​​​​ United Fruit was a company that corrupted governments all over Central America and even had partial control over the United States Government. Jacobo Arbenz was the Teddy Roosevelt of Guatemala as he fought against United Fruit and gave land to the people who needed it. Unlike Teddy Roosevelt though Jacobo Arbenz could not win because United Fruit controlled the American CIA with Allen Dulles in charge. The CIA recruited and trained Guatemalans who didn’t support the government under Jacobo Arbenz and they destroyed the cities and killed many people. The company had struggled to get out of poverty while Jacobo Arbenz was in charge but Guatemala ended up getting shoved deeper into it. United Fruit would continue to grow bananas in Guatemala but the land had been scarred and the bananas began to die out due to a fungus which would shrink the company's power. United Fruit is still around today but they change their name to Chiquita, likely to not be associated with their past deeds. This coup has left Guatemala a very corrupt and dangerous place even to this day.
