Conclusion

.
ASL improved the quality of life for the deaf by facilitating communication. Special schools and universities for the deaf opened teaching ASL and enabled the deaf to cross frontiers in many fields, not only in the U.S., but worldwide. ASL made it possible to offer accommodations for deaf people in public schools, government agencies, and medical offices, giving them access to similar opportunities as their hearing peers in education and the workforce, and allowing them to achieve their dreams.
