New York Media

New York media follows the topic of communication through the understanding of LGBTQ+ lives. In New York Times newspapers, the community has portrayed their feelings about the Stonewall event and have continuously demanded equal rights and the abolishment of anti-gay laws. These articles have exemplified mottos like "Gay Power" used during the Stonewall Riots to impact their message to broaden the message of justice through communication. However, the press has tried to inadvertently out people that gave police a platform before the event. Journalists and officials tried to slander the community as a way to win over the majority of society but despite this attempt, the news coverage on the event was able to reshape society into what was necessary. The New York Media offered positive and negative impacts toward its communication, mostly providing a voice of representation to the community.
