Aftermath

- "Hindustan Times", 1947

In the end of all the propaganda, India had been deeply impacted by imperialist propaganda. The push for separation from Great Britain grew in India from the Axis propaganda and moved for independence. After WWII ended in 1945, six years after it started, the push for independence became the loudest it had ever been, especially since Great Britain was still recovering from the war.

Although increased political tensions from propaganda pushed many Indians to warfare, many are remembered for advocating for peace. With the help of the pacifist civil rights icon Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948), India gained its independence in 1947.

Political and weaponized tensions left by propaganda created a strong drive for independence in India.
