The Rise of Propaganda

With all of the thoughts and feelings surrounding communism circulating, how did all of this information spread? The most common way was through propaganda. Propaganda is a form of communication that is used to manipulate the thoughts and perspectives of people. Propaganda tends to be biased or even misleading. Propaganda during the Cold War was at a all time high during the 1950s and 1960s.

Make Mine Freedom

Make Mine Freedom was a short 9 minute animated cartoon from 1948. It was pro capitalist propaganda which highlighted the benefits of living in a capitalist society. It was created by John Sutherland Productions.

One of the main goals of this propaganda was to remind the American people how great their country is. It would increase patriotism and lessen the chances of people doubting their capitalist country.
