In every office there is more than likely a printer available for people to use. On October 18,1938, in Queens, NY, Chester Carlson’s (the inventor of the xerography) assistant Otto Kornei made the first known copy to mankind, “he wrote the date and place—10.-22.-38 ASTORIA—on a glass microscope slide, turned off the lights and rubbed a sulfur-coated plate with his handkerchief to give it a static electric charge” (Owen). The impact of “Xerography made the process of documentation even faster, thereby saving lots of effort and money” (“Xerography or Electrophotography”) The xerography influenced future technology and the beginning of many well-known companies in today's society. The importance of the xerography was that people started to use the xerography in business, colleges, and the government.
