Wyoming´s Female Suffrage Bill

Thesis

For many centuries, women in the United States fought for access to equal rights. In 1869, Wyoming legislator William Bright proposed a bill providing voting and political rights to women in Wyoming territory. After it passed, Wyoming became the first government in the world to guarantee women's suffrage, many women voted, and some went into political positions. This law changed the frontiers in history by introducing the idea that women should get full suffrage and the right to hold office.
