The Revolutionary Abolitionist Grimké Sisters

Sarah and Angelina Grimké were daughters of South Carolina slave owners who witnessed how the slaves were treated as property, and joined the abolitionist movement. When their right to speak out was threatened, they began to advocate for women as well, especially the right to vote. Their work on changing the injustices in America’s society helped reform views on equality nationwide.
