Thesis: In the late 1940s, the world was recovering from the horrific Second World War, and those involved had no desire for continued bloodshed. Tensions between the ideologies of Communism and Capitalism peaked in the divided sectors of East and West Berlin. Control and manipulation of information and communication was a major weapon used in the Cold War. Although Berlin was physically being rebuilt, the tactics used in the Cold War continued to disrupt their lives for decades.
