The Navajo Code Talkers were indispensable to the US’s war efforts in WWII. The Navajo Code Talkers had to fight for their rights in the military, becoming the first completely Native American squad. They took on countless responsibilities including: relaying classified messages, developing a unique and undecipherable code, and securing victories at many monumental battles such as the tide-turning battle of Iwo Jima. These nearly 400 men risked their lives for the safety and protection of American ideals, and therefore are commended as one of the most influential squads in U.S. Military history.
