THESIS

On March 25, 1911, a tragic fire started at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory killing 146 people, mostly immigrant girls, due to unsafe working conditions. This fire revolutionized conditions in the workplace for future Americans by breaking through many barriers. Not only did the fire improve workplace safety conditions for workers, it also contributed to the recognition of labor unions and the enactment of child labor laws.
