Timeline
December of 1941- The United States entered World War II (Macy 2).
Fall of 1942- many men started getting drafted into the war which temporally paused Major League Baseball ("AAGPBL League History").
Fall of 1942- Wrigley wanted to have a backup plan just in case plans changed so he assigned a three-man team from the Cubs organization to loom into the possibility of developing a professional baseball league with female players (Macy 6).
May of 1943- Tryouts for the AAGPBL officially started (Macy 8).
Spring of 1943- The AAGPBL officially emerged ("AAGPBL League History").
Summer of 1943- Over 10 million men had joined or been drafted into the U.S. armed forces (Macy 2).
1944- The women in the league started attending a night school to work on their "charm" the lessons were lessons in the arts of walking, sitting, speaking, selecting clothes, applying makeup, and other everyday activities (Macy 13).
1945- Meyerhoff undertook a rigorious advertising campaign to promote the League ("AAGPBL League History").
August 14, 1945- The AAGPCL celebrated the end of World War II at the ballpark ("AAGPBL League History").
1954- The AAGPBL ended (Little).
