1850- Henry and Clement Studebaker went to South Bend, Indiana, because that's where they opened a blacksmithing shop to make more income (Erskine 15).
1852- The brothers began working on wagons, two wagons that year were made (Erskine 15).
1862- The Studebaker brothers founded the company in South Bend and later switched from a metal working factory to making metal components for wagons to different historical events such as the Civil War and the California Gold Rush (Harris).
1901- Studebaker brothers switch from a wagon business to an automobile company (Harris).
1902- Automobiles first hit the market and gasoline powered cars took over (Harris).
1920- Studebaker cars were popular and the brothers built factories all over South Bend (Harris).
1930- The Great Depression hit Studebaker and they had failed products, forced to lay off workers (Harris).
1939- World War II began and Studebaker shifted gears to help the war and made engines and cars (Harris).
1950- World War II began to end, Studebaker got back on track and had a car at every price (Harris).
1962- Studebaker was not making any new products and ended. Leaving hundreds of workers without jobs (Harris).
2005- The National Studebaker Museum opened up in South Bend (Studebaker National Museum).
