Final Score:  AHIHA's Undeniable Impact

1973

AHIHA's camps have been incredibly successful in helping break barriers for individuals living with hearing loss!

AHIHA gives deaf and hard of hearing individuals the chance to improve their self-confidence on and off the ice. Additionally, campers and families feel less isolated and can build friendships and create memories with others who have hearing issues. As a result of the hard work and dedication of many AHIHA volunteers, deaf and hard of hearing hockey players have access to resources and opportunities to be part of a team and feel like they fit in.  AHIHA has changed thousands of lives.

The future is bright for AHIHA!

"The way I look at it, these kids have been rejected so many times in their lives. You know how cruel kids can be. We like to think we can help them believe in themselves. We call this hockey school, but it's really a whole lot more than that." -Stan Mikita

"I started coming here when I was five years old. I didn't even know how to skate, much less play hockey. They have been my family since day one and I wouldn't be who I am today without them."-Jessica Goldberg

“Lifelong friendships are made at AHIHA camp.  When Uncle Irv started AHIHA, he didn't just start a hockey school, he built a family.”
