Start To End

After the Great Migration, many African Americans chose to migrate to Harlem, New York City, which was originally home to white middle-class people. After settling black Americans were motivated to seek for better opportunities and escape racial violence. During WW1 jobs for African Americans were increasing due to many men going to war and because of this jobs required more labor. After the war, African soldiers returned with more awareness of their rights and were insistent on standing against racial bias.

Langston Huges

"An Artist must be free to choose what he does, certainly, but he must also never be afraid to do what he might choose."

All of this fired-up determination amongst many African Americans led to Harlem being a hub for black Americans to which they were able to express and truly capture who they were and what they were capable of doing despite the color of their skin. Harlem was a space in which anyone could showcase their talents and ambitions. All this fuss attracted African Americans from the South, Africa, and the Caribbean. Due to this is enhanced cultural diversity.
