The Ghost Army showed how useful deception can be during World War II. The idea of the Ghost Army was inspired years ago by the British, and they would end up inspiring the Americans to use this tactic again in the Vietnam war. The Vietnamese wanted to take a significant American base, mainly for the propaganda. The Americans knew this was coming so they made a base that was too good for the vietnamese to resist. The Americans wanted this attack to happen as they placed more artillery than the enemy suspected. On June 21st, 1969, the base was attacked and that battle was a major victory for the Americans.
