The infamous Nuremberg trials use both Debate and Diplomacy.  In the theme, Debate, and Diplomacy, the two words essentially complement one another. Debates are situations where people argue opposing views. While diplomacy means negotiating and compromising with others to find a more reasonable solution.

The Nuremberg Trials used mostly debate during trials because typically trials are held over some sort of disagreement, In this case, the Nuremberg trials held a debate on whether or not the Nazis should be charged for their crimes against peace, humanity and charged for the other war crimes.

There was also a disagreement on how more Nazis should have been brought to the trials, there were only a few Nazis out of many more. The judges gave respect to the Nazis by letting them speak or defend themselves. This diplomacy led to some lack of necessary punishment. For example, Franz von Papen served as the chancellor of Germany in 1932, and then as the vice-chancellor under Adolf Hitler from 1933 to 1934. He participated in helping the Nazis take power all around Europe. Franz von Papen was not convicted and went back to an ordinary way of living. This is a negative case caused by the diplomacy given to the Nazis in the Nuremberg Trials.
