Long term effects

Long term effects

The long term effects are that they now have to spend the same equal amount of money on both girls and boys sports in school. No longer could a school use all its money for sports on a boys' team. There had to be an equal share of money spent for girls' sports too. The sports don't have to be the same for girls and boys. But thir must be an equal opportunity to take part in them. The results of Title IX have been dramatic. According to the National College Athletic Association (NCAA), in 1966, only about 15,000 women played team sports in college. By 2000, the total was 150,000 women ten times more.
