Impact
The 19th Amendment impacted women to be able to vote with men (“19th Amendment to the…”). “The campaign for woman suffrage was long, difficult, and sometimes dramatic; yet ratification did not ensure full enfranchisement” (“19th Amendment to the…”). Though the Amendment was ratified not all women had the freedom to vote (“19th Amendment to the…”). Other minorities of women still didn’t get to vote until later (“19th Amendment to the…”). The 19th Amendment was the result of many women’s work (“19th Amendment”). Women were punished for fighting for their freedom, they were heckled, jailed, and physically abused (“19th Amendment to the…”). Women also impacted elections because now they have more people for the votes. In the marches and parades for suffrage there were about 100,000 people, just imagine how much more votes there could be (Drexler).
