    Responsibilities

Newly produced freedom arrived with new challenges, specifically, responsibilities. Continuously, African Americans faced the negative consequences of discrimination. They were limited in their education, housing, and employment. As a result, African Americans were forced to engage with the unspoken responsibility of improving their face values. The fight for civil rights was an ongoing progress, shown as a performance of breaking remaining barriers.  ​​​​​​​
