Jackie Robinson was the youngest out of 5 children in Georgia and his father left him and his family when he was just 6 months old. This caused Jackie to build up a lot of anger throughout the yers so he began to play sports to defuse anger and ended up with a job at a work camp After this he was drafted by the army in 1942. Soon after he statrted to play in the Negro league and was soon noticed by Branch Rickley the manager if the Brooklyn Dodgers.
Soon after Robinson signed a contract in 1947 joining the Dodgers and that was where he made history by becoming the first Afircan American to join the Major Leagues. By doing this he broke the MLB color barrier , and inspired many people.
