The integration of baseball started with the first 4 African American players.
The Major League Baseball organization was first integrated in 1947. Jackie Robinson, Larry Doby, and Hank Thomson were the first to be integrated. Jackie Robinson played in Brooklyn, New York; Larry Doby played in Cleveland; and Hank Thompson played in St. Louis Missouri. These people made it safer for other African Americans to play in the MLB, and anyone can still play to this day. Without them, the rules would be the same, and only certain people could play baseball. So, people who fought for that right helped future generations get a secure place to play and have successful careers.
