Elizabeth Blackwell was born in February 3rd, 1821. She lived in Bristol, England, she was also born into a nice and equal family. Her father, Samuel Blackwell, was in the women’s rights movement and equality. Her mother Hannah Lane Blackwell was both an aboloists and a women’s rights and equality. She had many siblings and they're names were Anna, Marian, Sarah Ellen, Henry Browne, Emily, Howard, Samuel Charles, and George Washington Blackwell. Both of her parents believed that both boys and girls should have the same education so when she was 11 years old, her parents made her and her siblings have private tutors. Once, she went to Kentucky to teach, she experienced first hand slavery where there was a tobacco farm and slaves were forced to work there.
