Medical School

Elizabeth Blackwell was determined to get a M.D. and get a medical profession after a friends death of illness. Her friend wished her physician was a woman. That's when she attempted to get into a medical school. But because of her gender she was not accepted in many schools.

Luckily she was accepted into Geneva Medical College, but they accepted her as a joke. On January 23, 1849, she graduated and received her Medical Degree first in her class. She gained respect from her class and school because of that.
