"The Secret Annex" Anne Frank House

Anne Frank is an important figure in history because she is an international symbol of Holocaust victimhood. People today still see and recognize the name Anne Frank as a name of historical significance. Knowing Anne's story and the part she had to play in the Holocaust helped people commerate this event and the people who suffered through it. This helped reform people's cultures and views of discrimination. People could see the secret annex where Anne hid after it became a museum that people could people could visit and tour "with the hopes of being able to understand the dangers of racism" (Anne Frank House).
