("International Ice Patrol")

The sinking of the Titanic had impacted the world in many ways.  The collision struck fear into every heart aboard the ship and caused an immense amount of sorrow as over half of the Titanic’s passengers were lost at sea (“1,340 Perish As…”). Naturally, many people would try and figure out how the Titanic sank only a few days after the event ("Wireless Steamer On..."). Officers were studying articles and letters from before the Titanic set off for the voyage (“Interesting Incidents Concerning…”).  This shows that people may have had suspicions of why the Titanic sank. Soon after the incident, theories were made and confirmed, such as the Titanic was purposely sunk ("Ismay Confirms Worst..."). This event caused many countries to conference and agree to form the International Ice Patrol in 1914 (“They Said It…”). The Ice Patrol is an organization that scavenges the seas by air looking for potential dangers to cruise liners, mainly icebergs (“They Said It…”). The patrol was made to ensure that icebergs and other hazardous threats don’t affect the safety of those at sea (“They Said It…”).
