The importance of the Battle of Yorktown was not only to make peace with Britain, but also to obtain independence (Battle of Yorktown - Definition). The Battle of Yorktown was the last battle in the Revolutionary War and a revolution in history that gave many people from other countries who had been unsafe at the time or had no rights to come to a free country. The battle helped people come from all over the world to celebrate their differences such as tradition and religion with others. Many people sought a fresh start and independence, immigrants came from all over the world to combine into the country there is now. The battle gave many people hope and relief of looking forward to the new country (Battle of Yorktown - Definition).
