Explaining AMBER Alert

AMBER Alert got its name from a girl who was kidnapped when she was riding her bike in the town of Arlington, Texas, and then she was brutally murdered. Her name was Amber Hagerman. She was abducted in 1996, and we still don't know who kidnapped her. The Amber Alert system started when Dallas-Fort Worth broadcasters teamed with local police to develop an early warning system to help find abducted children.
