The milk cartons were short lived because it would take almost a year to process the milk carton and by then the child was either found alive or found dead. Sometimes missing children posters don't work because people don't acknowledge them because they think they are missing dog or cat posters. These people in the video did a social experiment and they put height, weight, and gender on the poster and hung it around a playground for people to look at. They sent Ryan to the playground and wondered who would notice. Only a few people noticed, and the people running the experiment interviewed them and asked them what they thought about it.
